Year 9 - Story writing w/ Miss Johnson

My family and I were unpacking our car, getting ready for a picnic at a local park. At this particular park there is a giant dinosaur. Its bigger than a mountain. I laid a blanket down over the grass and started placing the food on top. I got all of the plates and cutlery and put them down as well. After everything was put out we sat down and started eating. There was so much food! Things like chicken sandwiches, biscuits, juice, cake, mini pies and even pizza. It was a meal fit for a king. I started looking at the giant dinosaur and I thought I saw it blink. I studied its eyes, but just decided to brush it off. I continued eating when I thought I saw one of its arms move. I looked at it, and then it turned its head. Its giant legs pulled off the ground and stomped. It started to come towards me and did a massive roar. I got up and ran as fast as a cheetah. I ran and ran and didn't stop until I came to a row of trees. I climbed what looked to be the tallest one there and climbed to the middle. I could feel the ground shake harder and harder as it came closer. It stopped. I looked out of the leaves and I saw a giant eye peering back at me. I froze. The dinosaur roared its loudest roar and began to rip apart the tree. I hung on as best as I could but I fell. The dinosaur caught me in its hand and threw me up into his mouth. I woke up with a shock. I looked around. The dinosaur was still in the same place it was and my family was around me eating. I sat up and did the same. But I will never forget about the experience I had at that park. It still terrifies me to this day, even though I know it was just a dream, It still felt so real. Whenever I go to that park I always steer clear from the giant dinosaur.
