Re: Review of the new recycling program
As per your request, here is an update on how trialing the recycling program has been going. Below is a list of the pros and cons of how the trial went.
- Most of the recycling bins have been used correctly and the appropriate items are going into their corresponding bins.
- There has been mostly positive feedback come in from staff about the new system.
- Some of the staff think it is a waste of time but they are still following the rules.
- The food scraps bin isn’t emptied often enough and it becomes smelly.
- There is some confusion over what types of plastics are recyclable.

A few suggestions I have are I think we need to empty the food scraps bin a bit more often so it doesn’t start to stink. I also think that we should put a list above the recycling bins about what plastic can go in and what plastics can’t. Overall the new recycling program is going great.
